Stars and Skulls
Symbols are complex. They are used to represent a deeper meaning and value of something else.
It may appear that we jumped the gun for Halloween festivities, because at Curiosities & Oddities we have chosen to add paper stars and skulls to our ceiling.
This isn't a decoration to celebrate that Fall is right around the corner. We are keeping these decorations up year round to symbolize two important meanings to us.
When drawn in a Tarot reading, the Star card represents the idea that you are open to new ideas and growth. The star depicts a personal transformation.
A skull can symbolize a number of things. Some people look at skulls and immediately think of death and mortality. However, Sugar Skulls is a frequent image seen throughout the Day of the Dead festivities in Mexico to celebrate and remember the dead. Skulls are a positive symbol, representing an end of a cycle. You are transitioning into a new state of being, by completing one stage of life and entering into another.
We are drawn to these symbols and their meanings, for our own personal reasons and have decided to incorporate them into our business.
